DeepKeep Selected as EIC Accelerator Winner: Europe Bets on AI Security
The European Innovation Council doesn't fund trends. It funds breakthroughs. That's why being selected as an EIC Accelerator winner, and receiving €2.5 million in grant funding under the EU's Horizon Europe programme, means something beyond the number.
DeepKeep has been awarded €2.5M in blended finance through the EIC Accelerator's October 2024 cut-off. The co-funded project: Multimodal Models with AI-Native Security and Trustworthiness - a recognition that securing AI across LLMs, computer vision, spatial sensing, and multimodal systems isn't a nice-to-have. It's infrastructure.
Why This Matters
The EIC Accelerator selects fewer than one in twenty applicants. It backs companies working on technologies Europe considers strategically critical. The fact that an AI security platform made that list reflects something the industry is still catching up to: AI systems are not inherently safe, and making them trustworthy requires purpose-built security, not patched-on compliance.
Every organization deploying AI today faces the same underlying question: can I trust what this model is actually doing? Jailbreaks, adversarial inputs, data poisoning, PII leakage, and agentic failures aren't hypothetical risks. They're production realities. DeepKeep was built from the ground up to address them, across every modality, at every stage of the AI lifecycle.
The timing matters too. AI has moved from experimentation to deployment at a pace that has outrun security thinking. Most organizations are now running models in production with limited visibility into how those models behave under adversarial conditions. The gap between what AI promises and what it can actually be trusted to do is exactly where DeepKeep operates.
"Being selected by the EIC is validation that AI security is not a niche concern. It's a European strategic priority. This funding accelerates our ability to protect the organizations deploying the most advanced AI systems in the world."- Rony Ohayon, CEO & Founder, DeepKeep.
What Comes Next
The investment will accelerate DeepKeep's R&D and go-to-market across multimodal AI security, the frontier where risks are compounding fastest. As AI systems become more capable and more autonomous, the attack surface grows. We're building ahead of that curve.
Being part of the EIC portfolio also connects DeepKeep to a broader ecosystem of European deep-tech companies pushing the boundaries of what's possible. AI security doesn't exist in isolation. The more capable AI becomes, the more critical it is that security keeps pace.
